RESUME

De nos jours au Rajasthan, Trishna, une jeune paysanne indienne travaille pour son père. Issue d'un milieu défavorisé, elle fait la rencontre de Jay, un séduisant jeune homme fortuné. Charmé, il offre à Trishna de travailler en tant que serveuse dans son hôtel de luxe. Devenus amants, ils vont alors se plonger dans une passion amoureuse, contaminée par une lutte des classes omniprésente.
